After Asem Nicholson@Naoba Singh was remanded to police custody for 4 (four) days till 20/02/2023 by the Hon'ble Court of JMFC/ W-II in connection to the F.l.R No. 3(2)2023 PSI- PS, U/S: 325/354/448 IPC, the Officer-in-Charge, Patsoi Police Station has sought for another five days remand of the accused to police custody on 20th February 2023.
The accused person was arrested on 16/02/2023 in connection with FIR No. 3(2)2023 PSI- PS, U/S: 325/354/448 IPC and remanded into police custody for 4 (four) days i.e. till 20/02/2023 by the Hon'ble Court of JMFC/ W-II.
As per Sorokhaibam Jayananda Singh (28yrs), s/o S. Rajen Singh of Salam Maning Leikai in his report to OC Patsoi PS that the accused entered MLA Rajen's residence located at Salam Maning Leikai and assaulted everyone in the family he met without any reason. He even hit his sister Sorokhaibam Bandana Devi (25yrs), D/0 S. Rajen Singh, his mother namely Sorokhaibam (0) Shyama Devi (60yrs) W/0 S. Rajen Singh, and the MLA himself.
However, the police doubted the said accused person to have concealed the facts of the case and the other involved co-accused persons who instigated him to commit the crime. During this period of investigation, if the Hon'ble court releases him on bail, the accused will tamper the case, and the other involved co-accused person will escape police arrest.
With these into consideration, the OC Patsoi Police station has prayed the Hon'ble Magistrate to remand the accused to further Police Custody for a period of 5 (Five) more days i.e. w.e.f 20/02/2023 till 24/02/2023.
