Dental College, RIMS bagged 1st Consolation Prize in "World Oral Health Day Celebration Contest"

In a month-long "World Oral Health Day" contest organised by the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Manipur's Dental College RIMS bagged 1st consolation prize.
A month-long "World Oral contest was held from 20th March to 20th April 2024 for all the departments of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry of all Indian Colleges and Paediatric dental clinics. Their main objective was to raise public awareness about oral health in children and teenagers.
In a very remarkable achievement with the collective effort from the doctors and staff, the Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal has been awarded 4th rank (1st consolation prize) and will be honoured amongst the best Dental Hospital in India.
The doctors of Dental College RIMS led by Dr Bhoomika have been actively engaging in creating oral health awareness and providing preventive and therapeutic treatment in various schools, children's homes, and relief camps in many districts of Manipur for the last month and continue to provide compassionate service to relief camp's patients still.
One-month awareness program includes training parents and teachers regarding the importance of oral health and its association with overall general and systematic health. They have also conducted Radio talks, newspaper articles, slogan competitions, skit plays, pamphlets distribution and posters to amplify their awareness in larger audiences also displayed in various parts of the city. Competitions were also held for schoolchildren and teachers.
In connection with this event Dr Wairokpam Bhoomika Devi, associate professor and head of the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry has been invited to receive the prestigious award during the inauguration of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry national conference to be held in September 2024, Bengaluru, India.
