MOREH 18 NOVEMBER - There is a rapid increase of dengue cases in MOREH. At least 6 people are hospitalized every day due to dengue. Despite the preventive measures taken up by the department the number of cases is still spiking. People were seeking immediate help from the government.
Since a case of dengue positive was found from Moreh ward number 7 on 26 October. The most affected are Chavangphai Veng of Moreh ward no. 7. At least 25 cases are found to be dengue positive from Chavangphai Veng alone. Preventive measures taken up by the special malaria unit seem to be ineffective. Seven patients diagnosed with dengue are still undergoing treatment in Moreh Sub - Divisional Hospital and most of them are from Chavangphai. Some patients have been shifted to hospitals in Imphal on their own for proper medical attention. 48 are found to be dengue positive out of 132 tested since October 30 at Krsnaa Diagnostic Pvt. Ltd Pathology Centre, 1st floor Moreh Sub - Divisional Hospital. And more are being found dengue positive at other diagnostic centers too. Thangkhomang Khongsai, Vice Chairman Administrative Committee Chavangphai Veng speak to our correspondent that Chavangphai is the most affected since the spreading of dengue in Moreh. Around 30 of them had undergone treatment in Moreh hospital. And some who couldn't bear medical expenses are still staying at home. He seeks government help to look into this matter and to take up immediate effective preventive measures on time as the case is still increasing despite the prevention measures taken up by the department.
