Directorate of Environment and Climate Change Invites Journalists for State Level Media Fellowship Programme on Climate Change

Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (State Climate Change Cell, Manipur), Government of Manipur, Porompat, Imphal has invited applications from the journalists of Manipur for the 4th State Level Media Fellowship Programme on Climate Change for a period of one year.

The theme of the fellowship programme will be “River Systems of Manipur”. And the sub-theme will focus on climate change and its linkages with the livelihood of the people around, the riverine, catchment, springs, agriculture, irrigation, technology, etc.

A fellow can avail this fellowship only two times consecutively. And fellows who have received the award twice can, however, apply again after a one-year break.

The fellowship will be awarded in four categories across the state,

  1. Open Category for Print Media Reporter
  2. Open Category for Electronic Media Reporter
  3. Woman Journalist Category for Print Media Reporter
  4. Hill Journalist Category for Print Media Reporter

      Eligibility Criteria for the Fellowship: Not lesser than one year of experience in journalism and Media reporting.

      Fellowship Award: Rs. 50,000/- per fellowship (in three installments) along with a citation.

      Opportunity During Fellowship Period: Interstate Exposure Visit and Capacity Building.

      How to Apply: The application along with the CV and two passport-size photographs is to be submitted to the Joint Director, Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur, Porompat, Imphal on or before 31st March 2023.

      The application should enclose a letter of endorsement from the Editor mentioning that the output under the fellowship programme will be Published/telecast in the concerned newspaper/electronic media.

      All fellows must agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and procedures taken up by the concerned authority.
