Financial Literacy Awareness Program at Ima Market
Eta: Northeast Women's Network in continuation of its "Know Your Basic Rights Campaign" started a Financial literacy awareness program in Ima Market.
“Know Your Basic Rights Campaign”, is one of Eta's flagship programs in which the organization feels the need to add a “Financial Literacy Awareness Program” to their campaign. The first of its kind was conducted among the vendor owners of Emoinu Complex at the Kwairamband Keithel on Saturday, the 18th of March 2023 in the afternoon.
The awareness program was conducted to make the vendor owners, the mothers, in general, understand what financial literacy is and how they can use their earnings to effectively use and manage through budgeting and investing and also for digital marketing of any small vendors in Manipur.
N. Guite, General Manager, NABAARD, Imphal, Abhay Kumar, Chairman, Manipur Rural Bank, Apanthoi Elangbam, Manager, Manipur Women Co-Operative Bank, Anjaya Karam, Banker, and Eta Member spokes as a resource person in the awareness program.
The resource persons interacted with the mothers at Emoinu Complex and inculcate various financial skills on how they can professionally manage their earnings.
In interaction with the mother, Abhay Kumar, the Chairman of Manipur Rural Bank, said he would assist in all possible ways and also will send his staff if anybody in the Emoinu Complex wants to open an account in Manipur Rural Bank.
More than a hundred mothers were taught the importance of financial literacy during the program. Many have also opened their account on the spot.
The awareness program was also attended by Shubra Talu, Meira foods, Ima Nganbi Lourembam, General Secy AMKIL, Khwairamban Imoinu Ima Keithen Saktam Kanba Lup, and Sophia Rajkumari Chairperson and Founder of Eta: Northeast Women's Network.
