Fraud Organization working for "War on Drugs" falsely collects money from Public; One Arrested, Organization Dissolved
Thoubal, March 15 - War on Drugs 2.0, an anti-drug mission of the Manipur Government is used as means of earning by creating an organization by some group of people, their self-style leader was arrested on Monday. The organization that tried to taint the 'War on Drugs' was also dissolved.
Regarding this matter, a press meet was held at the Headquarter of the All Manipur Muslim Development Committee, AMMDC situated at Lilong Usoipokpi, addressing the media Vice-president AMMDC HQ Abbas Khan expressed that amidst the War on Drugs of the Manipur Government, some self-proclaimed activist formed organization and earn money using the mission as their tools, a leader of such organization was arrested from Lilong Usoipokpi at around 1:00 pm by a team of AMMDC HQ and Kanglei People Against Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances (KANGLEI PANAS) Thoubal District Council.
Abbas Khan continued that the arrested is identified as self-style President BM Suhaib Shah (24) S/O BM Mano of Lilong Usoipokpi and he along with some other individuals formed the organization Manipur Anti Drugs Association, MADA, Head Office Lilong Khunou, Thoubal District and used the banners of the organization in catching and handing some drug abusers in Lilong area to some Rehabilitation Centre for a sum of Rs. 1000 per head. He added that they know the identities of others who are involved in this activity.
Besides this, they send letters to principals of Schools and Colleges in the Lilong area to extend monetary bits of help to their organization for their 1st Foundation Day due on 19 March. AMMDC and KANGLEI PANAS on suspicion enquired about the organization and have been able to know that the organization was formed by 4/5 individuals to use as means of earning, knowing this they arrested President BM Suhaib Shah.
Abbas Khan continued that they have been able to retrieve A SAMSUNG KEYPAD MOBILE PHONE, A REDMI ANDROID PHONE, 10 COPIES OF LETTERHEAD, the ID CARD OF the PRESIDENT AND ORGANIZATION SECRETARY, A SAMSUNG ANDROID PHONE, A ITEL KEYPAD PHONE, SOME DOCUMENTS, A HELMET, A BANNER FLAG, TWO SEALS AND SOME FILES, all the items are seized at AMMDC HQ office. On interrogation, BM Suhaib Shah confessed that they have been carrying out these activities for the past two years. They also educated BM Suhaib Shah on What is an organization? How to run an organization? and How does an organization work?
He also give an ultimatum to MADA Drive Secretary M. Imran Khan S/O Allauddin, Vice-president BM Nurul Ameen S/O Kudus Ali of Lilong Turel Ahanbi Ubakthong Mathak, and General Secretary Rewaz S/O Mujibur of Lilong Kaleikhong to come and clarified and apologize at the office of AMMDC HQ and KANGLEI PANAS within 48 hrs, he also warned that necessary legal action will be taken up against them if they don't abide the ultimatum of the body.
He also appealed to the general public to remain aware of such organizations and individuals and also persuaded such organizations not to taint the hard-working CSOs/Ima Lup/ Club/Organization.
He also warned rehab centers to run their centers sincerely and to stop involving in such activities, he also speaks of legal action against those who repeat such activities in minority-inhabited areas.
Later BM. Suhaib Shah declared the dissolution of MADA in front of AMMDC HQ and KANGLEI PANAS, he was later handed to his family.
The press meet was also attended by the President of KANGLEI PANAS Thoubal District Council, Lilong Md. Salauddin Khan.
