Gold Biscuits worth 90 Lakhs Above Seized in Khudengthabi

Tengnoupal Batallion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) seized gold biscuits worth Rs. 93.19 lakhs from an EECO van from Khudengthabi on 2nd March 2023 and foiled cross-border smuggling of gold biscuits. They also arrested the individual in the connection.

During routine checking at PVCP, Khudengthabi, the troops of Assam Rifles recovered 10 suspected gold biscuits from the EECO Van. The gold biscuits were well-concealed in the vehicle's central armrest. The individual was traveling from Moreh to Imphal. The recovered gold biscuits weighed around 1660 grams and were assessed to be worth Rs. 93.19 lakhs

The seized gold biscuits along with the owner have been handed over to the Customs Department, Moreh for further investigation.
