Government to release 1 crore Fingerlings fish into Loktak Lake: CM

CM N. Biren along with minister H Dingo Singh, MLAs Tongbram Robindro Singh, L Rameshwor Meetei, Th Shanti Singh, K Robindro, LDA Chairman M Asnikumar Singh, and the officials attended the program.
CM said the government has decided to release 1 crore fingerlings fish into the Loktak Lake to increase the yield and productivity of the fish.
"With special attention given to fisheries, we have been able to reduce the fish import bill by nearly Rs 150 Crore every year. It is my earnest appeal to the people residing in and around Loktak Lake to stop the encroachment on the wetlands as well as abstain from electrification while catching fish out of the lake," said CM
The 2nd term of the BJP government in Manipur, in its first cabinet meeting, has adopted "100 tasks in the first 100 days"- from which the government is continuously working to fulfill its target. The prime agenda of 100 days 100 tasks includes measures to make the state free from drugs, and corruption and try to establish peace by reaching out to various insurgent groups, to ensure inclusive development in the state amongst others.
