Lamjingba Group's ND Sanasam Jacky Remaded Judicial Custody till 16th March
Chief Judicial Magistrate of Imphal West, on Thursday, remanded Sanasam Jacky, Managing Director, Lamjingba Group, to Judicial Custody till the 16th of March 2023.
Imphal Police registered Eight FIRs against him on Ponzi Schemes and illicit money laundering following the flooding of complaints from various individuals and groups. Jacky had been under Police remand in the connection. He was produced before the court on 2nd March after the end of the remand.
The defense counsel prayed for Jacky's bail, but the IO proposed for re-arrest of him through APP relating to a new FIR lodged by a group of 16 individuals. The court studied the case records, submitted by the IO and ordered judicial custody till 16th March.
Earlier, the ED initiated a money laundering investigation against Sanasam Jacky on the basis of eight FIRs registered by the Imphal Police. The Lamjingba Group had cheated more than 15000 investors by misappropriating and siphoning off investors' money.
The ED arrested him on 21st January from Kolkata in connection to a huge Ponzi scheme and money laundering case. The team also seized Rs 34 lakh in cash and froze bank deposits worth over Rs 1.34 crore after it raided multiple locations of Lamjingba Group of companies and its MD Sanasam Jacky Singh in Gurugram (Haryana), Kolkata (West Bengal) and Manipur.
