Large Contraband items seized from a lady on the way to Jiribam
On receiving reliable and specific input from 16 AR some contraband items are being transported from Imphal toward Jiribam by an individual. Based on the above information- a joint team of Commando Unit Thoubal led by O. Wangkhomba, MPS, Addl. SP(Ops), Thoubal, and other commandos including women police under the supervision of Jogeshchandra Haobijam (IPS), Senior Superintendent of Police, Thoubal District conducted frisking and checking at Waheng Leikai, Jiribam Parking area. While the police team was conducting the operation, one lady was seen absconding to a nearby passenger TATA Winger in a very suspicious nature. She was immediately detained for verification.
On preliminary verification, the unknown women person identified herself as Heshi (33) w/o. Dinglen Doungel of Tamenglong West,(Tousem) Tamenglong District. When the team checks the passenger TATA Winger, search Heshi (33) w/o. Dinglen Doungel of Tamenglong West, Tamenglong District, was reluctant to cooperate saying that the school bag contains only eatables and clothes. On opening her School bag red and black color detected 40(forty) soap cases containing suspected Heroin (Brown Sugar) Afterwards, the above-suspected heroin brown sugar was weighed by using a weighing machine and found a total of 551 grams including the weight of the transparent plastic. Thereafter, the arrested person mentioned above along with the seized articles are handed over to Imphal PS for taking further necessary legal action.
