Movement of STDCM Intensifies; Human Chain Formed at Kakching Khunou Keithel; Ask for a Definite Stand of the Government

Locals at Kakching Khunou Kethel formed a large human chain in support of the demands of the Schedule Tribe Demand Committee, Manipur (STDCM) regarding the inclusion of Meetei/Meitei in the ST list of the Indian Constitution.
The committee said that it would submit the required documents in support of the demand to the Chief Minister very shortly. The committee and the large crowd also demanded that the Chief Minister must take a positive decision and send a recommendation to the centre.
During the procession jointly organized by the STDCM Kakching District Committee, Club Organizations in Kakching Khunou, Meira paibi
units, and market women, the committee said that as the ministers and MLAs extend their support for the cause, the government should
ensure that a positive resolution is made in favour of the demand in the Assembly Session beginning today.
The huge crowd held placards and shouted slogans that the only way possible way to protect and preserve our identity, culture, and tradition
to include the Meiteis/Meeteis in ST List in the constitution
A woman in the procession said that she and every people would support the movement of the STDCM till our ST demand is met.
