Noney Battalion organized womenfolk interaction on Mother's day
Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organized an Interaction cum meet of women folk at the local church of Company Operating Base Kotlein on the occasion of Mother’s Day on Sunday.
A press release stated that as Northeast India progresses economically, there are calls for states of the Northeast to pay more attention to social and human development, including women empowerment. Advocating women’s and girls' human rights is the need of the hour. Women empowerment is a critical aspect to achieve gender equality, where both men and women have equal power and opportunities for education, healthcare, economic participation, and personal development.
It further that Mother’s Day is a day to honor the most respectful creation of god on earth i.e. a mother. It is celebrated on Sunday, 08 May 2022 every year. Company Operating Base Kotlein had organized a get-together of womenfolk of local villages in a local church of Kotlein Company Operating Base. Women of all ages especially mothers participated enthusiastically and acknowledged the essence of the day.
An interactive lecture was organized in which the importance of women in uplifting every aspect of society was discussed. Special mention was done in respect of ‘Women Torch Bearers’. Meira Paibi of Manipur can clearly be referred to as ‘guardians of civil society.
Interaction cum gathering concluded by thanking the participants and reaching out to village auth for any assistance required by them, also refreshments were provided to honor the presence of womenfolk. A total of 74 women participated actively in the gathering.
