One Non-Local Killed, Another Sustains Injuries in Changangei Uchekon

A man shot one non-local in Changangei Uchekon Under Lamphel Police Station on Friday, the 24th of March 2023 in the morning.
A source from the spot said that the deceased entered the private residence of one Laishram Yening Peeba (44 years), son of Laishram Thoiba without a valid reason. The family advised the trespasser to move out of the property. A little later, the trespasser returned, held the axe, which the family kept to cut logs, and attacked the family. At this dangerous act of the trespasser, Laishram Yening Peeba rushed inside the house and shot the man down with his double-barrel licensed gun.
The source also said that Laishram Romeo, elder brother of Yening Peeba, also sustained injuries from a stray bullet on the thigh.
As per the ILP pass found from the body, the deceased has been identified as Govind Basumatri, son of Budang Basumatri from Assam. He is a laborer at the construction site of Kangchup road under ABCI Infrastructure Private Limited.
A team of Imphal West Police headed by the SP himself and a Forensic team arrived at the spot and investigated the incident. The body has been brought to RIMS Mortuary for post-mortem.
An FIR case has been registered under the Lamphel Police Station.
