Opium Seed Confiscated; Two Arrested

A combined team of Kakching Police along with some women police personnel recovered 22.770 kilograms of opium seeds concealed in a shop at Khudei khunou Part-II, Chandel, on Sunday and arrested two persons in the connection.

The combined team was assisted by the police team of Pallel PS led by SI Kh. Mothilphun Dangshawa. And the entire operation was taken up under the supervision of Shri Augustine Jangminthang Khongsai, MPS, Addl. SP(LO)KCG and the overall supervision of Shri Shrey Vats, IPS, SP Kakching.

Upon searching a pan shop in the adjoining area of Pallel and Khuninglung Village area at Khudei khunou Part-II, Chandel, the teams recovered the following in presence of some local witnesses.

38 g of suspected opium concealed in a Khaini packet
377 g of suspected WY tablets,

770 kg of suspected opium seeds.

The persons arrested in the connection have been identified as

JB Shangam (29yrs) w/o Ashok Lamkang of Vitu village, A/P Khudei Khunou part-II, and
Shangwar @ Thangsang Anal (29) yrs D/O, Nungsring of Chakpikarong, Chandel.

The arrested individuals along with the seized items have been handed over to CDL-PS for further investigation.
