In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club on Friday, M. Bobby Meitei - President PAPPM (People’s Alliance for Peace and Progress, Manipur), said the organization disapproves of the term “Ethnic Cleansing” being used to describe the present crisis in Manipur by the CSOs, Army Officers and Others. The President called the Present Crisis as Narco–Terrorism and External Aggression.
Speaking on why the organization filed the petition, Mr. Bobby said the organization filed the petition in the public interest because of the silence of the Indian state on Narco-Terrorism and External aggression despite knowing that it is the bare fact that is threatening the national security of India.
Expressing further on the massive violence, the President said that the present crisis is not an ethnic conflict but an act of narco-terrorism and external aggression against Manipur in which the Chin-Kuki-Mizo (Kuki-Zo) terrorists/militants are the main militants. The perpetrators include the KUKI SoO and non-SoO militants numbering more than 30 outfits, PDF 9 People’s Democratic Front) from Myanmar and others, added the President.
The President also said that since the root cause of the Present crisis is narco-terrorism and external aggression, the Union of India, the State of Manipur, NCB, NIA, National Human Rights Commission, National Highways Authority of India, and the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change must answer and find ways to stop narco-terrorism and external aggression against India in general and Manipur in particular.
