Pangal Students’ Union Condemns Brutal Treatment of Pangal Students During Protest Movement; Urges Parties to Work for the Betterment of the University

Pangal Students’ Union, Dhanamanjuri University (PSUDMU), strongly condemned the brutal treatment of students by the Manipur Police during a protest movement demanding their rights to regular classes and the clearance of semester backlogs.

The use of such excessive force against students is highly deplorable, said Mahenas, Information and Publicity Secretary, PSUDMU. She also urged the authorities concerned to take stringent disciplinary actions against the police personnel responsible for their actions.

PSUDMU also said through a press release that the union would fully support the agitation of the Dhanamanjuri University PG Student Association and join them in their efforts to ensure that the following issues are addressed by the concerned authorities on or before March 13, 2023:

1. Conduct regular post-graduate classes;
2. Complete the bifurcation process of the faculty;
3. Ensure that the classification of PG and UG department faculties complies with UGC regulations;
4. Issue Mark sheets, Library cards, and declare pending examination results.

Urging the authorities further to take swift action and address these pressing issues for the benefit of the students and the university as a whole.

They also pray the concerned parties to work toward the betterment of the educational environment at Dhanamanjuri University, for the benefit of its students, faculties, and staff.
