Several Rounds of Bullets Fired Upon MPCC Vice President's Residence; Meira Paibis and Local Clubs Stage Protest

Meira Paibis and local clubs staged a sit-in-protest at Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak(Ground) as a mark of their strong condemnation over the gun attack upon the residence of Hareshwar Goshwami, Vice-President cum spokesperson of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.

The unlikely incident took place at Wangkhei Konsam Leikai, Imphal East, in the early hours of 12th February 2023, at the residence of Hareshwar Goswami, Vice-President cum spokesperson of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.

More than ten rounds of bullets were fired upon the residence of the Vice-President, a local said.

Meanwhile, the Mera Paibis said that they strongly condemned the incident of firing upon a residential area and the surmounting senselessness of those miscreants involved in the heinous crime. They also held placards and shouted "They want Peace," and they wanted " A clarification from Whosoever Committed the act of terror."

The Meira Paibis also pleaded with CM N.Biren Singh to assign an investigating team and find out who committed the terrifying act and the reasons behind the attack upon a residential area, particularly at the house of MPCC's Vice-President.

A lady in the protest said that the fresh gun attack had created terror and awe in the minds of the residents around the locality.

Notably, the MPCC condemned the various forms of attacks on its office at the heart of the city and on the residence of its Vice President following a heated debate between the leaders of Youth Congress and BJYM on a Local News Channel.
