Three Arrested for Igniting Wildfire at Thentha Chingdol

Teams of Khongjom PS under the command of OC Khongjom PS with the fire tender of Thoubal District under the overall supervision of SP - Thoubal arrested three suspects who might have been involved in igniting the wildfire on Monday in Tentha.
The team worked out the arrest when they received information from SP-Thoubal control room that a fire accident had happened at Tentha Kangla Chingdol. They rushed to the spot without delay and doused the fire safely. But during the fire accident safety operation, the team came across the three suspects and apprehended them.
On verification, they identified themselves as
1) Ningshen Moshang (52 years), s/o (L) Ng. Thanni of Mumlo Ringpam Villag PO and PS Machi, District Tengnoupal Manipur
2) Shinglai Reishangsing (27 years), Sso S. Wungshunhmi of Mumlo Rimpam Village, PO-Wangjing, PS-Machi, District Tengnoupal, Manipur
3) Shimphrui Thotchan (26 years) s/o (L) Sh. Tamashing of Mumlo Ringpam Village, PO-Wangjing, PS- Machi, Tengnoupal, Manipur.
On interrogation, they stated that the fire accident spread when they ignited dry grasses while collecting honey from beehives in the forest. The team also seized a motorcycle Bajaj pulsar 180 (Black) bearing registration Number MN02AD-5752 from the foothills of the fire accident area.
The individuals apprehended along with the seized have been handed over to the authority of the Divisional Forest Officer, Thoubal District for further necessary legal actions according to the existing forest laws.
