Three Arrested in Thoubal Kshetri Leikai for Selling Narcotic Drugs

A joint team of Thoubal Police Station led by SI N. Sudhir including women police personnel and Kshetri Leikai Op team under the supervision of Shri. Jogeshwarchandra Haobijam, IPS, Superintendant of Police, Thoubal District arrested three individuals on the ground that the latter used his own residence and allegedly sold narcotic drugs to drug abusers on Friday.
The three arrested have been identified as
- Puyam Priyobrata Singh (28th Years), s/o P. Surjit Singh of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai near Hoatabi Lampak,
- Puyam (O) Soibam (N) Indrani Devi (28 years) w/o P. Priyobrata Singh of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai near Hoatabi Lampak, and
- Waikhom Nikita Devi (20 years), d/o W. Sanjit Singh of Thoubal Kshetrileikai Maning Leikai.
On receiving reliable information from an own source that one Puyam Priyobrata Singh (28 years) s/o P. Surjit Singh of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai near Haotabi Lampak was running drug vendor at his residence and selling to drug abusers, the joint team rushed to the house and arrested the three as they tried to escape from the house.
Further, on their body search in the presence of W. Ibocha Singh, MPS, SDPO/TBL for the witness, a mobile handset (Redmi Note 6) bearing mobile no. 9233286299 from Puyam Priyobrata Singh. However, no incriminating articles were found from Puyam (O) Soibam (N) Indrani Devi and Waikhom Nikita Devi.
But on checking the house in presence of the officer, the police team found one empty soap cap, 151 numbers of small plastic bottle containers, suspected heroin powder kept in a small transparent polythene, a plastic sack of suspected Ganja from inside the room of Priyobrata.
On weighing the items seized, the heroin powder weighed 7.30 grams including the weight of the container and 4 kgs of suspected ganja.
On preliminary examination, they stated that they are drug business partners and selling the drugs to drug abusers for profit.
Accordingly, the suspected heroin powder, ganja, empty soap case, plastic containers, and mobile handsets were seized from the possession of Puyam Priyobrata.
In this connection, the three have been arrested from the house near Haotabi Lampak, Thoubal Kshetri Leikai.
