Two arrested on Charges of Drug Cartel; Brown Sugar Seized

The combined team of CDO Thoubal led by Inspector K. Nitaranjan Singh, OC CDO Thoubal, and a column of 16 AR under the command of O. Wangkhomba, Addl. SP(Ops), TBL, detained two persons on the charge of drug cartel.
They were coming on a White Nissan Kicks bearing Regd No. ML 10C 4537 from the Churachandpur side towards the Imphal side.
The arrest was made when the team conducted frisking and checking under the supervision of Jogeshchandra Haobijam, IPS, SSP, Thoubal along NH-2 Leimaram Lamkhai under Nambol Police jurisdiction.
The two have been identified as
- David Basumatary (41 yrs), s/o Sudhir Basumatatary of 4th Mile, Diphupar Dimapur, Nagaland
- Moa Lkr (40 yrs), s/o Chungshi Lkr of 4th Mile, Diphupar Dimapur, Nagaland.
On receiving an intelligence report, the team found 20 soap cases hidden inside the spare wheel. It contains suspected brown sugar weighing 263 grams including the weight of the plastic which was then seized from their production after due formalities. Afterward, both of the occupants were arrested at 5:30 pm on Friday.
The arrested persons and the seized drugs are being handed over to Nambol PS for further necessary action.
