Two Manipuri Insurgents Killed in Myanmar

In a tragic incident, two cadres of a Manipur-based insurgent group got killed by a suspected combined team of Myanmar's PDF and KLA in Myanmar.

A source reported that three others, including two cadres of the same insurgent group, have been missing. They went along with the deceased.

The unlikely incident occurred at a place between Myanmar's border pillar no 81 and border pillar no 82, adjoining Tengnoupal district of Manipur, around 10:30 am on the 12th of February 2023.

The two deceased could be Koijam Kalen @ Prem, s/o Koiljam Komkanta from Dibong, Jiribam, and Khumukcham Wakching @ Premkumar of Kakching Khunou Awang Heitup Makhong, claimed the group.

The two bodies were found on the 13th of February inside a vehicle at the very spot where they were shot dead by the suspected combined team.
Of the three - missing, two have been claimed as Barish from Moreh and Tekcham Mayamba @ Herojit, s/o Tekcahm Ibomcha of Sairenkhun Polangsoi Maning Leikai.

Another source said that five of them, including the two deceased, went to drop a patient at a place. And they were on their way back on a two-wheeler and a four-wheeler. The unfortunate event took place on their way back.

The source furthered that there were several bullet holes in the vehicle where the two deceased were found. Of the two deceased, one was blindfolded, and it is suggestive of the fact that they were kidnapped earlier and shot later on.
