Unknown Miscreants Kill One, Injure Another in Heirok, Manipur

One got killed and another sustained injuries as unknown miscreants fired upon them at Heirok Part III, Ngarouthel of Thoubal District, Manipur, under the jurisdiction of Heirok PS.
The untoward incident occurred around 9:00 pm on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Ningthoujam Ramesh Singh (65) alias Rishang, S/O N. Thambalngou. He succumbed to bullet injuries. Thirty shrapnel from the Double Barrel bullet hit him in the extreme right abdominal region.
The injured one has been identified as Ningthoujam Kala (65 years), S/O N. Koklei. He sustained injuries in the right thigh region and is under treatment at Shija Hospital and Research Institute.
N. Robin, son of the deceased, expressed that a local rang him up right after the gunshot and informed him that his father was shot. He rushed to the spot and gave first-aid at District Hospital Thoubal. His father was later shifted to Shija Hospital and Research Institute. However, he succumbed to his injuries on their way to the hospital, added the son.
On inquiry, his father said he knew the miscreant, Robin said. But his father breathed his last before he disclosed the identity of the miscreant.
