"Without PMGSY Scheme India may Suffer a lot in Connectivity"- Minister Y. Khemchand
Sekmaijin, February 11- Two newly constructed Bailey Bridge of Wabagai AC namely Sekmaijin (Hangoon) Bailey Bridge and Khelakhong Bailey Bridge constructed under the PMGSY scheme inaugurated and handed to the people on Friday by MAHUD and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister Y. Khemchand.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by MAHUD and RD & PR Minister Y. Khemchand as Chief Guest, MLA of Wabagai AC and Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board Dr. Usham Deben as Functionary President and Chief Engineer of Rural Engineering Department Manipur Pantitsing Thaimei as Guest of Honor.
Addressing the ceremony MAHUD and RD &PR Minister Yumnam Khemchand said that Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is a flagship scheme of the government which provides better connectivity in rural India, without this scheme India may suffer a lot in connectivity. He continued that if the schemes are used effectively and properly, the gap between cities and rural India can be minimized. He asserted that within 3 months another 5 bridges will be handed to the people shortly and he also assured that the road between Sekmaijin to Maibam Konjin will be repaired under PMGSY by including it in special maintenance regarding the frequent persuasion and plea of MLA Dr. Usham Deben.
MLA Dr. Usham Deben expressed his gratitude to the Minister for handing two Bailey bridges to his people, he also urges his people to join hands in the progressive development of the AC. He also said that he feel delighted to hear the assurance of the Minister that the road between Sekmaijin to Maibam Konjin will be constructed under Special Maintenance of PMGSY. He said that even if the budget is low for full-scale construction he will do his best to fully pave the road. He also persuaded to not to bring up trivial issues in development work and to extend support in development. He also asserted that during his 5 years tenure, he will pave all the roads in Wabagai AC and people of his AC will walk on Metalled road.
