ALDA Hands Over Rations to Sajid Khan's Family; Promises Free Education of the Children

All Lilong Anti-Drug Association, ALADA handed over rations to the family of the deceased Sajid Khan, who lost his life during an anti-drug campaign carried out in Lilong in 2020. ALDA also promised free education for the children of Sajid Khan.

Md. Sajid Khan (29 years), S/O Md. Azad lost his life during an anti-drug campaign led by the then OC of Lilong PS O. Ajit at the residence of a drug dealer at Lilong Mairen Khun Tatthabi on January 16 of 2020. And he got hit by a bullet fired from the house of a suspected drug dealer and succumbed.

The volunteers of ALADA, OC Lilong PS N. Tiken, and Post Commander of 16th AR Major Kapdia handed over the rations and extended financial assistance to the family on Sunday. Taking part in the handing over ceremony, Abdul Nasir, the Founder of Islamic English School, Lilong Hangam Thabi, and former Convenor of JAC against the brutal Killing of Sajid Khan, expressed that the family and JAC of Sajid Khan agreed with the government on many terms. But the government hasn't kept its commitment yet. He said that the government assured a suitable job to the family of Sajid Khan, but no such action has been taken up regarding the assurance. Sajid lost his life in War on Drugs Campaign of the Manipur Government, and government shouldn't give such treatment to the warrior of the War on Drugs, he added.

As suggested by many to ALADA and other CSOs, he will give free education to a child of Sajid up to Class X in his Islamic English School, said the Founder of Islamic English School.

The volunteers of ALADA, Lilong Sports Association, and CSOs attended the handing over ceremony of rations to the family.
