Cancer Survivor Keke Wahengbam Title as the Most Influential Personality of the Year 2022
Imphal, May 15- All India Radio Former Announcer Keke Wahengbam who was bedridden for a long time due to cancer disease has been titled 'Most Influential Personality of the Year 2022' by Manipur International University(MIU).

The award was handed out on Saturday by Chancellor of MIU Dr. Harikumar Pallathadka at the program 'One Day Consultation Meet on knowing Mother Tongue from Indigenous Perspective' held at Manipuri International University Conference Hall, Ghari, Airport Road which is jointly organized by the Directorate of Regional Indian Languages and Research, MIU and Manipur State Commission for the Scheduled Tribes, Govt. of Manipur.

The award was handed to Keke as an appreciation for his efforts and courage in fighting the incurable cancer disease. Keke while combating cancer published a biography titled "Ee Amadi Cancer" meaning 'blood and cancer'.

Keke Wahengbam's biography "Ee Amadi Cancer" was published by Khundrakpam Bobo in the year 2021 for Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur. The book narrates the journey of Keke from combating cancer to its full recovery from this incurable disease after treatment. The publisher of this book Bobo Khundrakpam was also awarded National Appreciation Certificate-2022 by the University.
