Cleaning of Irrigation Canal Starts for Khombram Ethei Maril
Moirang, May 09- Cleaning of Khombram Ethei Maril an irrigation canal that provides irrigation to around 500 hectares of paddy field of Maronglou Loukol and Khombram Loukol of Moiang AC has started on Sunday.
The Khombram Ethei Maril flows down from Thanjing Hill which length of around 5km and provides irrigation to around 500 hectares of paddy fields of Khombram Loukol and Maronglou Loukol. To give proper irrigation the canal cleaning has started from today by using JCBs after being duly inspected by Minor Irrigation Department Bishnupur Sub-Division SO S.Rajen, SO Ph. Nobin, Terakhongshangbi GP Pradhan Basant, Moirang Kendra Apunba Loumee Sinmee Lup, and Nupi Lup Secretary L. Manglem and other volunteers of the Lup.
Secretary L.Manglem said that on April 13 at a Farmer Welfare discussion held at City Convention Centre Manipur Chaired by CM of Manipur, Agriculture Minister and Agriculture department officials, Moirang Kendra Apunba Loumee Sinmee Lup and Nupi Lup plea to the Chief Minister and other concern officials to renovate the Khombram Thingel Dam, CM and officials give assurance of the renovation and it has started from today. He also thanks to the Chief Minister and officials for giving the assurance of a bridge for free movement along the dam.
