Thoubal District Working Journalist Union (TDWJU) Warns Against the Unauthorized Circulation of News and Paper cuttings on Social Media

Thoubal, 8th May 2022: Soibam Binoy Singh, President - Thoubal District Working Journalist Union (TDWJU), raised concerns today over the new trend of reading out of the paper cutting and unauthorized circulation of news pdf on social media. It delivered a heavy blow to the livelihood of the hawkers and media persons, added the president. He also said that such cheap and unauthorized work is a loss to society.

The President said the words at Thoubal Athokpam Khunou during the Foundation Day Celebration of Thoubal District Hawkers Association.

He furthered that the unauthorized circulation of paper cuttings and news pdf on social media like Whatsapp, Facebook, and Youtube against the non-publication of news by media houses before 12 hours, is never a right way, nor a good trend. He also said that no one should open up a youtube Account for his or her benefit and run small news channels. This would create more issues in society and we should put a stop to all such personal and profit-making news channels.

It seems like the habit of waiting for the papers and reading them early in the morning is dying. The same habit of newspaper reading and listening to the news on TV is becoming very unpopular among the coming generations and it is high time we should plan a better way out inculcate that habit in the youths again, said the President. The habit of reading newspapers and listening to the news on TV will help all equally good in preparing for competitive exams and are very much important. If we don’t stop the youths from the misuse of social media, we will face the evil consequences of the same without fail.
