Disabled Appliances Distributed for Displaced People of Manipur's Violence:
Thoubal, June 14- The violent clashes between two inhabiting communities forced many people to abandon their houses and belongings and to seek shelter at various Relief Camps, among them there include a differently abled person. Under the program of the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Manipur, DC Thoubal Ahanthem Subhash, IAS distributed disabled appliances to 18 differently-abled persons (6 mentally retarded, 8 with a hearing problem, 3 in need of a wheelchair, and 1 in need of walking stick) staying at 7 various relief camps opened at Thoubal District.
The disabled appliances/ aids were distributed by the team of District Social Welfare Officer Thoubal Kangujam Nongpoknganba starting from Relief Camp opened at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex by DC Thoubal A. Subhash, IAS.
DC A. Subhash expressed that, a detailed survey was conducted by District Administration Thoubal at Relief Camps opened in the district, and in accordance with the report of the survey, 18 differently abled were handed their respective disabled appliances/aids.
He also added that for students staying at the Relief Camps arrangements are being made to enroll them at the school situated near their respective relief camps to begin their education.
