Sugnu Violence: 22-Year-Old Injured as Planted Bomb Blasts in Nazarat Area

A 22-year-old boy got hurt when a bomb planted by armed Kuki militants blasted on Monday around 2 pm in Nazarat area near Sugnu.

The ill-fated incident took place as a large number of people went to the Nazarat area in search of a Ngangom Nevy (From Sugnu Mandop Leikai) who has been missing since 28th May when village Volunteer Forces stormed the Nazarat Camp near Sugnu where the residence of UKLF’s Finance Secretary stands. The planted bomb blasted when a volunteer touched the bomb.

The injured boy has been identified as Yumnam Vopenjit from Langmeidong Mamang Leikai, Kakching District. A piece of bomb hurt him on the neck. He was given first aid at Kakching PHC and brought to Jeevan Hospital. Later, he was referred to RIMS for further treatment.
