Gold Bars Worth Crores Seized; Investigation Underway

Anti-Smuggling Team - Custom Division Imphal, on Thursday, arrested a man with 69 gold bars worth crores from an Eco Van in Thamnapokpi- Bishnupur.
Sources said that on receiving an intelligence report, the Anti-Smuggling Team moved further towards the Thamnapokpi area and conducted frisking and checking. The team got hold of a numberless Eco Van and shot a series of questions to the driver and the two other persons in the vehicle.
And when the team checked the vehicle, they found 69 gold bars hidden inside the van. 60296644.
The driver has been identified as Md. Wahidur Rahman (51 years), son of Md. Habibur Rahman of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai. The driver and the other two associates were brought before the Custom Division's Office in Imphal.
The Custom Division-Imphal later registered a case to delve further into the investigation.
