Heroin Worth One Crore Seized in Churachandpur; Peddler Arrested

Loktak Battalion of Headquarters 27 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in a joint operation with Manipur Police Commando team apprehended a drug peddler along with heroin worth approximately Rs.1 Crore from Torbung Awang Leikai Community Hall, Churachandpur District of Manipur on 2nd March 2023.

Based on specific input received from the Battalion’s intelligence team, the troops of Assam Rifles launched a joint operation with the Police Commando at Torbung Awang Leikai and successfully apprehended one drug peddler. Upon subsequent interrogation and frisking, the combined team also recovered 1.195 Kg of Heroin No. 4 worth approximately Rs 1 crore from the individual’s possession.

The apprehended drug peddler has been handed over to Phoujakchao Ikhai Police Station for further investigation.
