Illegal Construction on Paddyland; Construction Equipments and Raw Materials Seized in Khangabok

SDO Thoubal M. Ranjita and a team of Thoubal Police seized huge construction equipment and raw materials on Friday from an illegal site of construction near Wangjing - Khangabok along national highway 102.
The seizure has been made as part of the eviction drive of illegal construction on paddy land and wetlands under the efforts of the government to implement the Manipur Conservation of Paddyland and Wetland Act, 2014.
Speaking on the occasion, SDO, Thoubal - M.Ranjita said that the government has implemented the Manipur conservation of Paddyland and Wetland Act,2014. Under this act, she continued that no one is allowed to build or construct any house/building without prior consent from the state. And people should immediately stop any such construction and abide by the rules of the state.
The SDO also said that everyone is aware that such illegal construction on paddyland and wetlands is punishable by law. Yet they often engage in constructing new buildings and houses. At this, the SDO appealed to stop any such construction.
She also warned that she would take legal action. in case any individual happens to construct buildings or houses despite a complete ban from the side of the state.
