Mothers of Khwairamband Keithel and surrounding shopkeepers staged a sit-in protest demanding no separate administration in Manipur against the demand of the ten Kuki MLAs on Thursday at Thangal Lane and subsequently took a four points resolution after hours of discussion.

The mothers also gave an ultimatum of three days to the authority. In case the authorities and the concerned officials pay no heed to their demands, the Khwairamband mothers would lead other mothers from all sections and march in front of the security forces and ask the security personnel to kill them all.
Speaking on the occasion retired Professor Dr. Joykumar spoke on the main reasons behind the ethnic crisis in the state. He said it is not ST demand but the actions taken up, especially by the Chief Minister of the state, N. Biren Singh’s initiative to implement NRC in the state and implementation of the War on Drugs. Professor Dr. Chinglen and a member of AMBA - Tomcha also spoke on the same matter.
The speakers also talked of the necessity of the mothers to bring peace and harmony back to the state.
Besides the mothers' four Kwairamband Keithel (markets), various other women's organizations participated in the sit-in protest.
