Khwaramband Imas Meet Several Union Ministers; Submits Memorandum
After staging a huge protest at Jantar Mantar on 19th May, Khwairamband Ima Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee for Peace, Imphal Manipur, submitted a memorandum to Union Ministers including Ministry if Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate, and Chairperson of National Green Tribunal demanding a solution to the prevailing situation in the state and restore peace.
The mothers condemned the blockade of national highways, creating bunkers on the same and many other inhuman activities meted out to the Meiteis in the Peripheries. They also wrote to the Environment Ministry to abolish poppy plantations in hill areas and save every inch of land from misusing.
The mothers also met the Union Ministry of Food Processing and Industries Shri Pashupati Kumar and requested a quick solution to the prevailing conflict in the state. Besides, the mothers also wrote to the National human rights commission, New Delhi regarding the same.
The mothers presently waiting for the possible resolution of all political parties meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah.
