Manipur Unrest: Violent Mob Attacks Residence of Union Minister in Manipur Crisis Protest; Three Truck set Ablaze

In a shocking turn of events last night, an enraged mob descended upon the residence of Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, RK Ranjan Singh, expressing their frustration and anger towards the perceived failure to address the ongoing crisis in Manipur. The highly charged incident quickly escalated, culminating in the burning down of the minister's residence.
The public's mounting dissatisfaction with handling the crisis reached a boiling point at approximately 11 pm when an angry mob stormed the minister's residence complex. Demonstrators, numbering in the hundreds, were driven by a sense of disillusionment and a belief that their concerns were being ignored.
In a spree of destructive acts, the mob set ablaze two security vehicles parked within the residence complex, along with a private vehicle. The flames engulfed the vehicles, causing significant damage and contributing to the chaos and turmoil that ensued.
As tensions escalated, the mob vented their frustration by inflicting considerable damage to the minister's residence. The house suffered extensive destruction as portions of it were set on fire. The inferno raged for hours, consuming parts of the structure and leaving behind a scene of devastation. The Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, RK Ranjan Singh, who is in Delhi is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, Three vehicles loaded with machinery were burnt down by miscreants at Langmeidong on the same night.

An FIR is being filed by Waikhong Police related to the burning of three vehicles in the Langmeidong area on Thursday.

It is reported that FIR No. 30(6) 2023 under Section 147/148/149/427/436 IPC has been registered at PS Waikhong.

According to Waikhong Police three vehicles i.e. two trucks and one Bolero Pickup loaded with machinery came from Sugnu to Imphal around 8:45 pm yesterday.

The miscreants intercepted the vehicles, after heated arguments at Langmeidong bazaar. The mob burnt down the vehicles at Langmeidong Public Ground near Langmeidong Higher Secondary School at 9:05 pm on Thursday.

The vehicles which burnt down in the Wabagai area were following the vehicles after an interval of time, that vehicles also carry saws and people burnt them down in an open space alongside the road.

The machinery and equipment of the plywood factory which was burnt down is said to belong to N. Dilipkumar S/O N. Gouri of Koirengei Keithel.
