Manipur Day Observed At India International Trade Fair 2021

After a year notch, the India International Trade Fair (IITF)2021 kick-off at the New Exhibition Complex of Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on 15th November. The fair was on hold since 2019 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. After the normalcy in capital resume- one of the largest India's trade fair is back again. As part of the ongoing Fair, Manipur day was observed on Wednesday with the ethnic touch of Manipur. As part of the day- a fashion show showcasing Muga Fabric was presented by the Sericulture Department to promote a range of Muga (silk) fabric. Celebrated model and Social Activist Mayanglambam Diana was the show stopper of the fashion show.
The 40th edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) was inaugurated by the Union Minister, Piyush Goyal at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. "The participation in this trade fair has crossed 3000 small & big businesses. Women MSME entrepreneurs are given stalls, free of cost. Other MSMEs, including startups, have been given a 40 percent discount by ITPO", he tweeted. This year, the theme of the fair is "Aatmanirbhar Bharat". Piyush Goyal also said, "We witness 2nd highest GST collections for October. Normally you see that kind of a large jump up in GST collections in the closing month of the Financial year. We saw a GST number of 1.30 lakh cr truly showing how quickly the economy is coming back towards normalcy". Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also inaugurated the Delhi Pavilion, which is showcasing the city's "unique" model of governance. The pavilion is based on Chandni Chowk, which was recently revamped by the state government. Sisodia said, "Delhi is writing a new chapter in the progress of the country through its work in the fields of education, health, public transport, industry, and environment."
