One BSF personnel Killed; Two Assam Rifle Personnel Sustain Injuries in Serou

One BSF personnel got killed in Serou early this morning and two Assam Rifle personnel sustained injuries when Kuki militants attacked them with heavy firing.

The tragic incident took place when Kuki militants shot the BSF personnel down using a Chinese sniper. The BSF personnel went out of his bunker around 4 am for a short period of time.

The deceased BSF personnel has been identified as

C/No.0820109066 Ranjit Yadav(36 years) S/O. Mahendra yadav

R/O. House No. 21 Block-22 Sugiapara, Kankinar

Dist. 24 Paragana North West Bengal

Wife. SMT. Kaushalya yadav.

He was a Jawan from 163 BN A-Coy, Mizoram, and was stationed at Serou pratical high school.

The sniper hit the jawan on the left back and passed through the right chest.

Report said that he was brought dead to Jeeban hospital around 6 am. The body has been brought to JNIMS for post mortem.

While the Kuki Militants also injured two AR personnel today. They have been lifted to Leimakhong by helicofter. Their condition is critical, said a reliable source.

Heavy exchange of cross firing is still continuing in Serou.
