One Active Prepak Cadre Arrested in Bishnupur

A combined team of CDO Bishnupur and a column of 9th Assam Rifles arrested an active RPF/PLA from Kumbi Thingel Leikai on Thursday on the charge of alleged involvement in the extortion of money from various individuals and govt. offices in Bishnupur and Imphal West District for the party on 14/03/2023.
The active cadre has been identified as Wahengbam Paikhomba Meitei@ Nanao @ Akajao (33) S/o W Pahari Meitei of Kumbi Thingel Leikai.
On receiving information from a sister agency regarding the presence of the cadre of RPF/PLA.
A combined team of CDO Bishnupur under the command of Sub. Y. Shaktishen Singh, OC-CDO Bishnupur under the supervision of Roni Mayengbam, MPS Addl. SP (Ops) Bishnupur and overall guidance of N. Herojit Meetei, IPS, Sr. SP-Bishnupur along with a column of 9th Assam Rifles rushed to the said location and detained the RPF cadre from his residence.
On interrogation, the cadre disclosed that he is an active cadre of RPF/PLA joined in 2007 through one Keba of RPF/PLA and allotted Army no 2873. He revealed that he was arrested earlier in the year 2014. On further verification, he stated that he is presently working under the instruction of one Chinglen (finance section) for extortion of money in the general area of Kwakeithel.
The combined team arrested Paikhomba from his residence located at Kumbi Thingel Leikai Laibunig Makhong around 11.00 am by observing proper formalities. He has been handed over to Kumbi PS for further necessary action.
