Following the infamous incident in which the 2nd OC Irilbung Police Station mercilessly assaulted Md. Abdul Hakim, a differently-abled father on Friday, the residents of Keirao Makting staged a sit-in protest at Keirao Makting Menjor Ingkhol and demanded the dismissal of the 2nd OC. They also demanded the transfer of the incompetent OC P. Paojeanlung of the same Police Station.

Abdur Rakish, son of the victim of Keirao Makting Menjor Ingkhol of Irilbung PS, Imphal East pleaded CM N. Biren and the concerned authority to take action against Irilbung PS 2nd OC - Th. Bung Bung for his inhuman assault on Md. Abdul Hakim, the differently abled father. Abdur persuaded the Chief Minister to dismiss the 2nd OC within 3 days. He also obliged the Chief Minister to transfer the incompetent OC P. Paojeanlung of the same Police Station.

Abdur stated during the protest that mortgaged a plot of their land for a sum of Rs. 30,000/-, but when they went to the lender to return their land record after they paid the mortgaged amount back to the lender, the lender refused to give their land record.

But when they enquired about their land record at the concerned settlement office, the name of their land record was found to have changed to another name. In this regard, they lodged a complaint at Irilbung PS.

Abdur, the son, said that the Police personnel summoned both parties on 14th March to negotiate before the IO instead of OC of the Police Station. However, to everyone’s surprise, the IO, instead of interrogating him, kicked his differently-abled father and fell to the ground. The 2nd OC also thrashed his father with a baton. At this, Abdur pleaded with the IO with joined hands, to stop beating his father, the IO assaulted him badly.

Of these bad experiences, he has sought the attention of the concerned to take stringent action against the police personnel who assaulted his differently-abled father mercilessly and dismiss them at once.

Mina Bibi, the elder sister of Abdul Hakim also persuaded to dismiss and take legal action against the guilty police personnel within 3 days. She added that in case the authorities don't give them justice by the given dateline, they will resort to strong protest movements in collaboration with the CSOs and other Organizations for the differently abled.
