SP Kangpokpi Sends Proposal to Hand Over the Murder Case of AK Nongnganba To NIA

Th. Vikramjit, MPS, Superintendent of Police, Kangopokpi District, Manipur, has sent a proposal to hand over the case of (Late) AK. Nongnganba @ Aging Murder to the National Investigating Agency (NIA).

According to reports, the State Home Department has also recommended the proposal and sent the same to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for handing over the case to National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Notably, the JAC against the killing of AK Nong-nganba and five women bodies on Friday, the 17th of March, served an ultimatum to hand over the murder case of Ak Nong-nganba to the NIA on or before March 20.

The state police are presently investigating the case under FIR No. 8(2) 2023 KPI-PS 302/34 IPC, and later on added Section 120 (B)/364 IPC and 15/16/18/20 UA(P) Act.

Akoijam Nongamba (41), son of late Pilot AK Langam of Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai in Imphal West district was found dead at a hilly terrace at Changaoubung village, three kilometers from Kangpokpi police station of Kangpokpi district on Sunday, around 2.30 pm after he went missing after going with a girl in a car for project work on Saturday, the 11th of February.
