STAR Education celebrated Eta's “Women of Substance” Award 2023 as the Gold Sponsor

Date: 12th March 2023 Imphal, Manipur - STAR Education, the transformative education program led by the Chief Minister of Manipur, in its press release expressed that, they are proud to be a part of the celebration of the “Women of Substance” Award 2023 by Eta: Northeast Women’s Network as a Gold Sponsor of the event on March 12th, 2023, at Imphal Hotel.

The release said this year’s International Women’s Day theme is "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality". As a part of this 3rd edition of the Annual Eta Manipur, STAR Education presented an “Exemplary Service in Education” Award to Leiyami Tontanga, STAR Teacher from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya, Heinoukhong among other 20 estimable women in different award's category.
Ms. Leiyami has been an educator for almost 10 years working relentlessly toward molding children for their bright future. Speaking at the event, Amrita Thingujam, Managing Director of STAR Education said, “At STAR Education Manipur, we firmly believe that education is a powerful tool for empowering women and girls. We are committed to providing quality education to young women, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue their dreams and build successful careers."

STAR Education team participated in the event to support the cause and promote gender equity. The program will also dedicate the month of March to women educators in the efforts to promote gender equity in education, said the release.
STAR Education is a part of CM’s School Fagathansi Mission under the Government of Manipur to transform the education system of the State through excellence in teaching and learning in classrooms, ensuring strong learning outcomes for children and better growth for the state.

The press release also mentions that Eta: Northeast Women's Network was formed with the idea of getting women from India's North East together under one platform, especially those who are away from home. The main objective of Eta is to provide a platform for women’s views to be articulated and heard in a meaningful way, while also playing an active role as a network to assist and enhance their social and economic well-being.
