Sensitization Programme on Juvenile Justice held at Thoubal
Thoubal, March 03- A one-day Sensitization program on the Juvenile Justice ( Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 was held on Friday at the Counting Hall of Thoubal District DC Complex. The program was organized by the Department of Social Welfare, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Thoubal under the supervision of District Administration Thoubal.
The program was attended by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal Ahanthem Subhash, IAS as Chief Guest, District Child Protection Officer Thoubal Konjengbam Anita as Functionary President, and Superintendent of Police Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam, IPS as Guest of Honor.
The program was held in two sessions- Legal cum Probation Officer, Thoubal Reena Chanu Moirangthem and Programme Officer of SCPS, Department of Social Welfare Mala Lisham spokes as Resource Persons on "Juvenile Justice Care and Protection of Children Act 2015 " and " POCSO Act 2012 " respectively.
Addressing the program DC Ahanthem Subhash expressed the need of knowing these acts for the safety and security of growing generations. He also advised legally adopting the children not on virtual ground to avoid unsolicited consequences. He said that uploading the identity of minors on social media is illegal and it should not be done, he also appealed to the media to release news by abiding by due norms of juvenile justice.
The sensitization program was also attended by various District Level Officers.
