Two Active PREPAK Cadres Arrested in Sekmaijing

The combined team of Keithelmanbi Battalion and Imphal East Commando arrested two active cadres of the proscribed insurgent group PREPAK from Sekmaijin Thongam Makha Leikai, Imphal West district on Thursday.
Based on credible intelligence inputs provided by Keithelmanbi Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), the combined team conducted a combing operation in the region and apprehended the active cadres.
The apprehended insurgents were actively involved in extortion and carrying out other subversive activities in the valley on behalf of the proscribed group.
The apprehended insurgents were handed over to Mayang Imphal Police Station for further investigation.
While in another incident, the combined team of Keithelmanbi Batallion and Thoubal Commandos apprehended two alleged women arms dealers from Heirok Part-II Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district on Wednesday, the 3rd March. The team also recovered one 9mm pistol (Glock) from their possession.
The apprehended women along with the recovered items have been handed over to Heirok Police Station for further investigation.
