Three Minor Critically Injured In a IED Bomb blast at Kwakta

A high-intensity IED bomb exploded at Kwakta- a Municipal Town Council in the Bishnupur district of Manipur.

Around 7:30 pm on Wednesday a very high intensive bomb exploded at Kwakta, a Muslim-dominated locality. The high intensity IED bomb was fitted on a Bolero and exploded near a culvert between Kwakta and Phougakchao Awang Leikai on Tiddim road. Three persons including a minor boy were injured. The minor was evacuated to CHC Moirang for first aid.

The three injured were identified as Md Mustak S/O Ibela Aged15 from Kwakta Sevala, Afad, Aged 7, S/O Salaofrom Kwakta Ward no. 7 and Yunus S/O Iboton, Aged 18 from Kwakta W/8.

A 7 year old minor got critical eye injury and reported to be attended at Community Health Centre Moirang for first aid. Two others are also admitted at Moirang Community Health Centre. Sources further cited that the bomb might be planted to blow the connecting bridge between Phougakchao Ikhai and Kwakta along the Tiddim Road to disrupt the movement of the army and state forces reinforcement in the severely affected Phougakchao Ikhai, Saiton, and Torbung area.
