More female students qualify: NEET

By Editor HY News: Five-seat scholarship for medical coaching to be sponsored in the name of Pusham Sadiya who has cracked NEET with 641/720 on her 2nd attempt. Pusham Sadiya is from Bangoon Mayang Imphal who is the first meitei pangal girl from Mayang Imphal to crack the NEET exam. She has been ranked 2nd for overall Manipur in terms of marking. NEET is a national-level entrance test organized for admission into MBBS and BDS courses. The NEET exam 2021 was declared on 1st November 2021. These courses are offered by various government and private colleges of India. This year over 15.44 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam which was conducted at 3,858 centers in 13 languages. Over 8.70 lakh candidates have qualified for the exam. More female students qualify according to NTA officials, continuing the trend of previous years more female students have qualified for the exam than male students. Eight of the 14 transgender candidates who had appeared for the exam have also qualified.
“A total of 4,94,806 female students have qualified for the exam while the number of successful male candidates is 3,75,260,” as per the official report.
Social activist and entrepreneur Altaf Hussain has encouraged and showed his token of appreciation by extending financial gifts plus one stethoscope to Pusham Sadiya. He has also declared 5 seat scholarship for one year of fully sponsored medical coaching to girls of the minority community in her name from Mayang Imphal Constituency. To inculcate the spirit to pursue their dreams by the girls belonging to the minority community, he has decided to sponsor to other five girls, said Altaf.
