Tracing their Forefathers, 16 Imas of Hojai Paid Tribute to Statue of Paona Brajabashi at Khongjom War Memorial Complex
Thoubal, February 21- Tracing their origin and land of forefathers, 16 Imas (Mothers) from Hojai District of Assam reached Imphal on 5 days journey and paid tribute to the statue of Paona Brajabashi at Khongjom War Complex of Thoubal District.

They arrived in Imphal on 18th February, on the 3rd day of their Manipur journey, Thoubal District United Development Organization (Thoubal Ima) welcomed the 16 Imas at their office at Wabagai.
Later they were brought to various tourist spots and the Khongjom War Memorial Complex, where they paid tribute to the Khongjom War Memorial Pillar and a statue of Paona Brajabashi.

The journey of 16 Imas was led by President, Vice-president, and Asst. Secretary of Apunba Meira Paibi Lup Hojai District Brahmacharimayum Padamabati Sharma, Karuna, and Hema respectively. They were welcomed yesterday at Wabagai by the President of All Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) Lourembam Nganbi, President of Thoubal Ima Sapam Bimola, members of Thoubal Ima, and various other CSOs.

Padamabati Sharma expressed that by tracing their origin and land of forefathers they decides to pay tribute to the statue of Paona Brajabashi. They felt honored and excited to pay tribute to their great forefathers.
President of AMKIL L. Nganbi said that they were brought to Khongjom to know the history of the might of our forefathers and their spirit to keep the Independence of the then Manipuri Kingdom. She said that they will be brought to Sanamahi Kiyong and Ibudhou Marjing Khubam. She continued that there were many Manipuri diaspora who fled and inhabited various places to avoid atrocities of Ava (Burmese) during Chahi Taret Khuntakpa and it is high time to strengthen our bond of unity and being Manipuri by tracing each other's bond.
