Two Non-Manipuris with Invalid ILP Documents Arrested in Lilong; House Owner to Pay the fine

In a routine ILP Verification drive of Non-Locals on Saturday, a team of Lilong Police found two Non-Manipuri with invalid Inner Line Permit at Lilong Alia Lamkhai area Masjid road. The two have been staying at the rental house of one Syed Hifjur Rahman aged about 54 years, s/o Late Jalaluddin of Lilong Alia Lamkhai, Masjid Road, PO & PS-Lilong, District Thoubal, by violating the Manipur Inner Line Permit Guideline, 2019 (Manipur Inner Line Permit is Amendment Guidelines, 2022).

The particulars of the two non-Manipuris are,

1) Gorakh Ray 47 Yrs S/o. Amavasi Ray of Village Khalispur, PO-Khabsi PS-Thanabaniyapur, District-Saran, Bihar and

2) Sugiya Devi 45 Yrs W/o. Gorakh Ray of Village Khalispur, PO-Khabsi PS-Thanabaniyapur, District-Saran, Bihar.

Further, the two non-MAnipuris and the owner of the house - Syed Hifjur Rahman were picked up and brought to the Police Station for further formalities.

As per provisions of the Manipur Inner Line Permit 1st Amendment Guidelines, 2022, Syed Hifjur Rahman, the 54 year old owner, shall be liable to pay Rs 5000/- of penalty per person for the two individuals he sponsored. Further, necessary steps will be taken up against the two Non-Manipuris mentioned above as per the provision of Manipur Inner Line Permit 1st Amendment Guidelines, 2022.

It is appealed to the general public, especially the sponsoring Entity e.g. contractor/Firm/Agency/Company etc. who engage Non-Locals labours and owner of rental house who keep Non-local to follow Manipur inner Line Permit 1st Amendment Guidelines, 2022. It is also further appealed to them to check their ILP documents regularly.
