Awareness program on Child Rights held on children's Day
Tamenglong 14th, November 2021, (DIPR): The District Child Protection Unit (Social Welfare), Tamenglong in collaboration with Children Homes and Childline Service Tamenglong organized an Awareness program on Child Rights cum Children’s Day Celebration, 2021 at Jaithau Children Home campus, Tamenglong Headquarters.
The program was attended by Shri Paul Nangsha, SDO/SDM, Tousem, Shri Josiah T. Pamei, SDPO, Tamenglong, Shri Babuna Dangmei, DCPO, Tamenglong, Km. Gongdiliu Kahmei, Member, Child Welfare Committee, and Shri Lungganlung Cheibong Phaomei, Protection Officer (IC) as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and Resource person respectively. Around 120 inmates of Zauzian Children Home (Girls), Jaithau Children Home (Boys), Macarius Home (SAA), and Officials and Staffs of CCIs and Childline Service Tamenglong attended the program.
During the program, Shri. Babuna Dangmei, DCPO, was made aware of the POCSO Act, JJ Acts, and were also explained briefly about the "Good touch and Bad touch" and the danger/menace of Child trafficking. The dignitaries who attended the program of the children's day also encourage and exhorted the children to be positive in life. The Story of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and his vision about the children of the country and a couple of parables were also explained to the children present during the program.
At the end of the program, the staff of CCIs entertained the children and the program concluded with Children’s Day dinner served by the Officials & staff.
