Vigilance and Corruption cell Misguided in Khangabok Part III; Locals Demand Harsh Punishment of the Mischiefs

Residents of Khangabok Part III expressed their dissatisfaction over the fact that the Pradhan, Nominee of the Gram Panchayat, and the block officials misguided the inspecting team headed by SP, Vigilance and Corruption cell when the team came for inspection over the work programs taken up under MGNREGA. At this, the locals demanded strict legal actions against the misguiders.
During a press conference held at the Panchayat Ghar of Khangabok Part III, RTI activist Ningthoujam Shyamkesho said that the locals made a complaint on November 15 2022 to the Vigilance and Corruption cell regarding the misappropriation of funds for the region under the 14th and 15th State Finance Commission have been released without any work being taken up in the region. So, they paid a visit to investigate the matter. However, when the vigilance team headed by the SP visited the place for inspection, the Pradhan Nominee of the Gram Panchayat and the block officials misguided the team by taking them to an old work site and convinced them to have completed newly.
The activist furthered that the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell visited the region on 17th March in response to the complaint. But the pradhan, nominee, SO, Gram Rojgar Sevak, and Panchayat secretary took the Vigilance team to the wrong work site and misguided the team.
Describing the misguidance as the most unfortunate thing, the RTI activist sought the intervention of the government and the concerned to take strict action against the mischiefs.
