As part of the nationwide Women-led Swachhta Campaign, Lilong Municipal Council, on Thursday, organized "Swachh Utsav Week 2023" in Lilong. The Swachhta campaign for Lilong which would continue for three weeks was launched by the Chairman of the Manipur State Minority Commission ER Anwar Hussain at Lilong Bazar.
Regarding the launching of the campaign, ER Anwar Hussain said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs - Hardeep Singh Puri launched the “Swachh Utsav - 2023” under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for a clean India. For Lilong, he said that the Campaign is being organized by the Executive Officer of Lilong Municipal Council under the supervision of the MAHUD Minister of the State. He firmly believed that they would be able to clean Lilong fully within one week of the campaign. He also extended his words of gratitude to the Caretaker Councillor, Ex- Ward members, local leaders, and members of Self Help Groups and Clubs and Organizations of the Council for their untiring effort.
Executive Officer of Lilong Municipal Council M. Rajen Singh also said that Swachh Utsav was launched on 8th March by Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri in connection with International Women's Day with the objective of a clean urban and clean city and the campaign will continue upto 30th of this month.
At the launch of the campaign, the team cleaned Lilong Bazar. Vice Chairperson of the Council Islaur Rahman also attended the campaign.
